According to the parent materials provided the Kumon approach believes that having a child try to solve the problems on his or her own teaches them to think for themselves and build confidence.
Although it can be effective for some students it may not be the best option for all students. Kumon is created to help students with remembering facts quickly through repetitive practice. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us ranging all the way up to those about to go to university. To become truly eloquent our children need to master the basics.
